The chairmen of the House Transportation Committee and its aviation subcommittee introduced aviation security legislation upon Oct. 17 imposing a recompense on passengers of up to $250 for each trip. Any additional permanent funds needed would either be appropriated or would arise from a fee imposed directly forward the airlines. The proposed legislation also would make it easier for airports to use passenger facility
